REVIEW: SOME BY MI 30 DAYS MIRACLE LINE

SOME BY MI which means “Attracted to Beauty” is an International multi awarded company, that is focused in creating natural skincare from the best ingredients, hence their slogan ; “Remarkable skin transformation from natural ingredient”.

In line with this, they have created products that will target people with acne prone skin and those who suffer from Post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation(PIH) as well.

The Some By Mi’s 30-days Miracle line contains a cleansing bar, toner, serum, and a cream that will surely help you with your acne dilemmas .

This line contains three main ingredients which are AHA, BHA, PHA, but it also contains additional unique ingredients that are added per products,

so you might ask what does this three main ingredients actually do?

Here’s the breakdown:

AHA, BHA, and PHA are all chemical exfoliators but they differ in ways,

Alpha Hydroxy Acid or “AHA” is a water soluble ingredient, meaning, it targets the outermost layer of our skin which is called the Epidermis, since it doesn’t penetrate deep into the skin this ingredient is great for dissolving and eliminating the dead skin cell in the surface of our skin by ungluing the dead skin cell this will aid promote a faster skin cell turnover, hence, revealing an evenly pigmented complexion. The other plus points of this ingredient is that it also helps in collagen production and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and this ingredient is also perfect for layering with other products since it increases product absorption.

Beta Hydroxy Acid or “BHA” as we know it, is an oil soluble ingredient which is able to target the deeper layer of the skin called the Dermis, because of it’s solubility it has greater power in clearing up the pesky clogged pores. It also has an anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties which is great for those with acne prone skin, because it addresses almost all the major causes of acne.

Polyhydroxy Acid or “PHA”is a type of third generation peeling ingredient that is similar to the previously mentioned AHA, but is gentler and less irritating especially those for sensitive skin. It creates mild peeling on the skin by targeting the epidermis , but what I love about this active, is that it attracts more moisture on the skin, keeping it hydrated will exfoliating it. PHA also aids in collagen synthesis which helps skin heal faster

Overall these three acids help fade the hyperpigmentation of the skin that may be due to the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or sun damage, keeps acne at bay, lessen sebum production, and improve the overall appearance of your skin.

1st step: CLEANSING with the AHA BHA PHA 30days Miracle Cleansing Bar

The miracle cleansing bar is specifically made for troubled skin which helps improve the appearance of pores, it also exfoliates and targets acne . This bar contains a mixture of

10, 000ppm natural tea tree extract and Houttuynia extract that are beneficial in soothing the skin, effective in sebum control, and relieves skin inflammation, it also helps in the prevention and extermination of the demodex parasite which causes acne and rosacea. This product is also paraben, EU allergen, and Alcohol free.

The cleansing bar contains a lot of good stuff, it has acne fighting ingredients such as Licorice which has skin brightening properties, it also contains tea tree extract, and willow bark water. This bar can also be benefit those with mature skin because it also contains Lactobionic acid which has anti aging properties. And for those with active acne this will help heal you skin fast because this also contains grape seed oil.

A P P L I C A T I O N

You can use the soap on it’s own, but I suggest you use a soap net, to create a frothy textured facial foam, and in a circular motion massage it onto your whole face, I also do suggest to leave it at least for a minute or two to maximize the effect of the cleansing bar. It also has mild tea tree scent that doesn’t bother me at all, It can actually be relaxing for me.

T H O U G H T S

Although this cleansing bar didn’t immediately fade my PIH in two weeks span, I’ve noticed my skin was smoother and clearer when I started using this bar, it didn’t cause any skin irritations, nor did it leave my skin dry after cleansing, it also helped in the decrease of my sebum production despite the hot climate here in manila. I would definitely recommend this for those with acne -oily prone skin as it will target your concerns with prolonged use.

2nd step: Toning with with the AHA BHA PHA 30days Miracle TONER

Just like the cleansing bar this contains, tons of tea tree extract amounting to 10,000ppm, which is great for soothing skin, increased sebum control, and relieving skin’s inflammation.

It is also hypo- allergenic since it contains EWG green grate rank that is suitable for sensitive skin. This works as an effective exfoliator to use every day to achieve a more radiant skin.

One of the most love ingredient by people with acne skin, Salicylic acid and sodium hyaluronate is a part of the ingredient list for this toner to treat and speed up the healing process of acne, it also has good amount of other anti aging ingredients Lactobionic acid, adenosine, citric acid, and niacinamide that doubles as a brightening ingredient as well. A P P L I C A T I O N

After cleansing, take a cotton pad/swab, and wipe your face with it, let it absorb. I do suggest to do toner masking , wherein you soak in a cotton pad with the toner and leave on top of your skin where you have bumps or Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and leave it on for 10minutes to maximize the effect of the product.

T H O U G H T S

This product has a light green tint, it also has a mild minty three-tea scent, I also noticed that it has a bit of cooling effect whenever I do toner masking. In terms of performance, it helped lessen my black heads, and whenever I get small bumps it helps flatten them faster than usual,

My skin didn’t react to this product negatively there was no tingling sensation upon application, and it didn’t break me out. This toner is a hydrating one, unlike the other toners that will strip off the natural oils of your skin, this will leave your skin hydrated, but of course I still suggest you use a moisturizer after using this toner. I also love that this has a 5.5 pH level that isn’t harsh for your skin barrier.

3rd step: Serum Application with the AHA BHA PHA 30days Miracle Serum

A calming serum that will address your skincare woes, specifically made for those with oily-acne prone, and PIH, this serum is best used when you have active acnes as it will surely soothed the current inflammation on your skin.

Madecassoide, centella asiatica14.5% extract, tea tree(10,000ppm) extract and sodium hyalurante are ingredients that are abundant in this serum to promote acne healing faster and to affray acne it contains willow bark extract as well, to assist slow down the process of aging this has Niacinamide, Lactobionic acid, adenosine, ceramide and citric acid.

After toning, shake the bottle very well to ensure that the oil and water formulation is mixed well, apply 2-3 drops on your face, dab it on your face lightly and allow it to be absorbed by your skin.

T H O U G H T S

This serum has a unique bi-phase content or what we call ‘oil in water’ formulation, just like the toner it has a hint of green tint, and has a citrus scent to it. The formulation is light weight and has a watery consistency that makes it easier to absorbed by the skin. I’ve noticed that this serum benefits is more towards soothing the skin rather than fading acne marks despite it containing 3 types of HAs.

4th and final step: Moisturizing with the AHA BHA PHA 30days Miracle Cream

To finally complete the 30 day miracle line routine Some By Mi created a facial cream that will give your skin the alleviating solution it has always been craving for, It brags about it containing

Expect a faster wound healing as this contains Madecassoside, Centella Asiactica Extract, and sodium hyalrunate, and to keep acnes at bay this also contains willow bark extract.

For a more relaxing experience with this cream, I suggest you keep it refrigerated for that added cooling effect once applied, make sure to use a spatula or mini spoon and just get the right amount you need, in this way you can prevent the bacteria from contaminating the cream. Once applied on the face distribute it well, and tap it lightly for better absorption.

T H O U G H T S

This cream gel has light mint scent, but what I admire about it , is that it can easily absorbed by your skin, doesn’t make my face oily, but gives a hint of dewiness to it. I also use this even at day time, because of it’s light consistency it works well under my make up, doesn’t make my make up look cakey at all. But what I love most about it is how smooth it makes my skin upon application.

Overall verdict about the line:

I LOVE IT ALL. I was never a believer of purchasing a whole line, I’ve always been skeptical about it, but Some By Mi is changing my perspective, from the cleansing bar down to the cream it has made my skin feel baby smooth, unlike other AHA/BHA products I’ve used before this did not sting at all, it kept my acnes at bay, flatten the bumps I had on my face, and has soothed my skin when it felt irritated. Although two weeks is a bit short to observe how it works on my PIH, but I’ve seen it gradually fading it, these products are one of those that works ‘ slowly but surely ‘, I will continue using this product and update you guys if it’s able to fade my acne marks over time. The only con I can say about this brand is that their price point might be steep for some consumers, but then again these are quality ingredients so you can never go wrong with it.

Will I repurchase?

Yes , especially the soap, toner, which is running out fast so I might hoard those first.
